Nestlé is Looking for You! And They Know How to Find You…

Ever feel like candy follows you wherever you go? If you’re a Nestlé chocolate bar lover in the UK, you might be more right than you know! Nestlé may have spent more in marketing this campaign than chocolate fans can hope to win – there are (6) $16,000 prizes up for grabs and the marketing costs come in at a cool $6.5 million! – but whether or not that makes sense, I think you’ll agree with me that this is the coolest candy contest since one Mr. Willy Wonka decided to tuck a few golden tickets inside his sweet treats.

Here’s the breakdown as I understand it, from reading about it at DigitalTrends.com. Nestlé has chosen its 4 most popular candy bars in the UK to hold host to 6 prizes. These candy bars include Yorkie, Kit Kat 4 Finger, Kit Kat Chunky and Aero Peppermint Medium. Each of the 6 winning bars contains a GPS chip, which is activated when the candy bar is opened. We’re not sure how visible this chip is, so we’d say that if you eat any of these candy bars in the UK, hold onto your wrappers for 24 hours before tossing them in the bin! Why 24 hours? Because once that chip is activated and Nestlé receives your location information, they will “despatch a helicopter to find the buyer to present them with a briefcase containing their £10,000 (about $16,000) cash prize.” Yes…a helicopter. Yes…a briefcase o’cash. Yes…make sure to eat lots of chocolate bars. As if we ever need an excuse. I’m in the US, but I’ll be enjoying a few just in case! 😉
